Since I am not interested in doing accounting work or filing of tax returns for others I don’t intend to become a CA. Also, I see this as boring and intellectually dead work.

A 'dustbin university' makes a 'dustbin lawyer'. Therefore, very few clients place their faith in CAs (and 'dustbin lawyers') to argue their matter before the high courts or the Supreme Court.
Always go for an area that interests you, a field that you enjoy delving into, a subject that you can claim as your strength. Give your best without worrying about your competition (CA/lawyer/MBA) and you are bound to excel. It is great to have professionals competing with each other. Even better when professionals from different field compete with the other. There’s no point shying away from competition if you believe in excellence. Yes, tax is very technical and dynamic. It requires consistent learning to remain competent in the field of tax. But therein lies the charm!
Adding up on his suggestions, talk to every HR, headhunter, contact, connection etc & make the switch preferably to corporate where opportunities are plentiful. One will need to start afresh but no problem, 3 years is nothing in the long run. Start in a small T2 firm where one can learn corporate transactions, agreements, deal flow & work flow. 2-3 years down the line one should be able to switch to a bigger firm with more pay. Also gauging how AI is catching up do courses on prompt optimization for GPTs, basic SQL & Python as this will be greatly relevant once AI picks up in the transaction space & automation increases.
