Because partnership gives you more freedom to design your everyday life i.e. working hours, wfh, culture of the team, etc. In house- you are joining an organization and YOU have to adapt to their requirements. In short, as a partner, you are an EMPLOYER and as an in house counsel, you are an EMPLOYEE.

Potential to earn money is more as a partner depending upon how many clients you poach. There could be underlying issues in the organisation, you never know. You might fail to adapt.

There are infinite reason imo.
Stocks were probably underwater, and there was no big fat FU Money payout coming soon.
When a GC leaves (read fired), there is usually some internal trouble brewing that the GC refused/ was not able to resolve. After the Biju Crisis, im not very sure things are green on the ed tech side
Gotta be a team player and a leader for being a GC not his great suit.
Maybe because his fat pay check at Unacademy was coming in Unacademy’s way to profitability, so he left (or was asked to leave - which sounds more likely).
Ofc. He took his stock options and came back to his safe space. Maybe moved out at the right time ! And he has always been an expensive resource.
