Because partnership gives you more freedom to design your everyday life i.e. working hours, wfh, culture of the team, etc. In house- you are joining an organization and YOU have to adapt to their requirements. In short, as a partner, you are an EMPLOYER and as an in house counsel, you are an EMPLOYEE.
Potential to earn money is more as a partner depending upon how many clients you poach. There could be underlying issues in the organisation, you never know. You might fail to adapt.
