Firstly, they will discount your experience band. Ex - if you’re an A1 at a T2 firm, they will offer you A0 position. This is a good cost cutting method for them and they view it as a win win situation, which it is in all honesty as you will make more as an A0 at T1 than you would have made as an A1 at you T2/T3 firm.

My salary jumped by almost 3 times when I joined T1 from T2. My increments were not announced as of that time and i was already 4 months into the FY as an A1 at the T2 firm. Had it been announced then also it would have been close to 2x.

You will get the standard salary the firm has for their experience bands but you can expect a minor tweak here and there depending on which law firm you are switching from and how much you were making. So the hike mainly depends on what you were making earlier and not how much you will be making post the switch.
