I got a tier 1 NLU through reservation but I feel shitty because now I will be studying with people ranked much higher than me in clat and that is creating an inferiority complex in me. Somebody help
Why did you have to mention the "special group" that qualifies for reservation in the application form? I had a classmate (belonging to ST) who never mentioned it anywhere in the form. He got in on his merit as a general candidate. No one is holding a gun to your head to avail reservation.
Cant as in pajeet republic number matters. There is no individual here, its all group identity. You breath and die in your group. Only solution is good private affordable institution for education and group tribalism.

Its the OBC which is the problem and i have seen many UC harping about vulnerable SC/ST whereas its OBC which is problem. OBC has no such basis, many of them were ruling class and landed caste. Solution to backwardness of OBC was universall good education not reservation. But it was rebellion of middle caste for capturing state power. A lot of people group OBC together with other vulnerable groups for which i think distinction is necessary. They werent oppressed, they were the oppressor too. Middle caste culpability in casteism is dishonesty ignored and that is dishonest and very grave sin. As often these middle landed caste are the one who commit most atrocities.
Get aware about issues before opening mouth about issue as complex as reservation. General category's focus is wrong, they focus too much on SC/ST whereas its OBC who is to be blamed. Reservation is representation, agree but only representation of SC/ST was agreed on not OBC.
And there's one fact you would like to know reservation is not fundamental right and state may or may not extend it. But OBC kangers are hell bent on declaring it as fundamental right which will make it more hot potato.

If the system is rigged in your favour why wouldn’t you make use of it? Not using reservation is stupid esp because clat is unpredictable asf and even someone with months of solid prep can mess up on exam day and get a low rank. In such cases reservation is like a safety net. Is it moral? Perhaps not. But not using it is just plain stupid lol.
Tbh it's best if people belonging to reserved categories use reservation, that way they're at least reducing the competition among the open category students.
Yes, my classmate felt uncomfortable being classified as an ST (you see in India, the surname reveals a lot). But he never played the victim card. A bit like Parsis in India. They are a tiny minority but have never played the minority card. That is a proud and self-respecting community - and see their impact, influence, and achievements in this and for this country.
Things only get worse from here, when your reach said college and realise how smart merit people actually are. They'll be the ones winning all competitions, answering in class, getting amazing internships right from first year (more often than not, merit people also have better contacts), and getting respectable batch ranks. There'll be a few outliers here and there, but this is the trend that'll follow. You will find it impossible to cope, however you can combat this by putting that work in which merit student had to put in the entrance exam, all throughout five years.
Bro CLAT is such an unreliable exam to measure one's Aptitude, that in my batch, people with 14k rank are topping the course, meanwhile people with 1k ranks are getting repeats in end sems. Don't beat yourself. And ignore the 1st years on this platform.

So the people enrolled in govt school without tution only compete with other people enrolled in govt school. That will be substantive equality. SC/ ST are getting their population proportionate, its time we extend it to OBC too.

I've seen many exceptions to the general norm of the "general" category being in the top 20/30, be that exception
moreover clat ranks don't decide who does well in college, so you might actually be better than those 'merit' students!
