I have worked both in a law firm and in house. Let me tell you tell you, this rings true for both. My friends have had similar experiences.

How dare you play down someone's experience just because "you guys" think this may/ may not have happened?
I'm from a tier one NLU. During my third year, this was the firm where I chose to do my first corporate law internship. I had quite high expectations about the place but everything came crashing down ever since the day the internship commenced. Most of the blame is to be taken by their extremely toxic Principal Associate named ▮▮▮. (Mods please don't censor, people NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS MONSTER)
i) She gave me and my co-intern research propositions but almost whenever we asked for clarification she made sure to shoot us down in every single manner possible.
ii) She kept on insisting on the fact that this is our first corporate law internship and how we should be learning from it but her absolutely hostile behavior and total refusal to teach or clarify anything in the slightest made it impossible to do so.
iii) One day, while working in the conference room she suddenly entered, snatched my laptop to see all the tabs I had open just to check whether I am "actually working or not"!! What a fucking violation of privacy.
iv) She went as far as asking us about our clat ranks and 12th grade marks, specifically to find out if we are general category students or have "got into NLU because of reservation"
v) There's more instances where she acted outright unprofessionally but I am not comfortable stating more.
All of these happened quite a long time ago (around one year) but the reason why I am writing this post now is because she hasn't changed her ways whatsoever. Juniors from my university have went there to intern and ended up facing much worse. This PA is ultra toxic to everyone for no reason. Other than her, the firm doesn't have any problematic people but almost everyone is scared of her to a great extent. Anyway, the primary point of this post is to deter prospective interns from going there, because it won't be worth it AT ALL.
Following that, I have interned at several tier one firms, faced some toxic situations but it was nowhere as bad as what I had to undergo at this horror of a firm.
