My advocate repeatedly levies a 10% Clerkage on every invoice. WTF is that, lawyers of India!!? It looks like a 10% service charge that restaurants unlawfully levy - which should be waived without fuss!
Same way junior associates are no more than restaurant waiters.
Guest stop paying clerkage let counsel should bear his office expenses clerk remains poor but counsel gets richer by 10% more
Guest: stop paying clerkage. Let counsel should bear his office expenses. Clerk remains poor but counsel gets richer by 10% more .
Clerkage of counsel is paid directly to the clerk, so counsel is not getting richer. Having said that, I agree that counsel should pay a salary and there should be no clerkage. Much like β€˜tips’ in the US

But that's the ideal scene. In reality, the lawyer pockets most of the clerkage too.
What's the problem? He is an independent practitioner and care charge for his services as he wants - irrespective of the way or amount. If you aren't comfortable with it then don't engage him otherwise simply pay up.
