The Attorney General for India R. Venkataramani launched India's first "Centre for Innocence" at NFSU. Needless to mention, forensic science plays a critical role in preventing wrongful convictions and equitable justice systems for overall public welfare.
The next step would be to ensure a bigger version of the Innocence Project to start in collaboration with this centre. People like Anup who are already working on projects like 39A may be consulted in this relation. Good things are happening. More Indian institutions should keep doing stuff like this. NLUD did start with Anup's project, but this would be on a much larger scale.
