People who switched from cap marks to M&A. How long do you think one should work in cap marks before making the switch. Also are promotions delayed when you switch to a new practice area?
I know of a few people who did. The promotions aren't exactly delayed but you start from an A0 position post making the switch, which in a lot of instances does not happen nowadays because nobody wants to train a newbie who has only done SEBI compliance disclosure work. Even the CM partners fear such things which is why the recruitment in quality capmarks teams like SAM & Indus is only for kids who have a certain level of direction towards equity capital markets and nothing else.
