Typical of this government. Keep pushing some institutions without them having done anything substantial.
Cry harder, please. INIs are so for a reason - they are important to the country. Welcome to the world of real national institutions.
Important to the country, wow! Those are the INIs that are given the tag after they have achieved something, like the IITs and IIMs. This is the same as Jio University getting the IoE tag before it even started.
Here's what an INI is (officially):

"Institute of National Importance (INI) is a status that may be conferred on a premier public higher education institution in India by an act of Parliament of India, an institution which "serves as a pivotal player in developing highly skilled personnel within the specified region of the country/state". Institutes of National Importance receive special recognition, higher autonomy, and funding from the Government of India."

NFSU is playing a key role in developing skilled human resources in forensic sciences and other allied areas/disciplines. There is no requirement that the university has to be 50 or 100 years old, to qualify for the INI status. NFSU is indeed an INI in a very niche area that has important implications for the country's national security that you'll hear a lot more about. So just get used to it.
Not "is playing". Is intended to play. There is a difference. And I can't take your incessant hype about it, that's worse than the government choosing to neglect existing institutions and infra and instead setting up pet projects based on partisan agenda.
My bad, that was Institute of Eminence, not an Institute of National Importance!
Oh come on. Even the imaginary Jio univeristy hit the tag. Lol. It’s pathetic.
If the tag is an issue, then how come state institutions are even allowed to use the "national" tag? This is not only pathetic but misleading as well.
