1. Is it mandatory to suspend bar licence or did your company force you to do that?
Asking because most lawyers after going in house or even doing full time private jobs rarely suspend their bar licence.
2. Are there any issues if you don't suspend your bar licence post entering an in house job.
3. Suspending Bar Licence and then getting it back - how expensive is it?
Bar Enrollment you have to spend 15'000+ in most states. What is the cost of suspension of license and then getting it back when you practice.
4. Why don't most lawyers in India who go in house not suspend license?
Instead of an employment contract. Ask your employer to hire you as a retainer or contractor. It's just one or two lines in a contract. Legally, most law firm Associates are not eligible for bar license in india - they just make one change. They call thier employment contract a Retainership Agreement. That's all.
Do I have to give up my bar enrollment. Or would I be able to keep it after I join this new job?
