If strong rumours and industry voices are to believed, to shortlist those canditaates who can bring in much freshness to the firm. Khaitan's policy of not generally not shortlisting students who have interned but failed to bag a PPO, has been appreciated and acclaimed by everyone incl law students. It has drastically helped in cutting down those students who just got the internships out of their personal contacts, and didn't know any work. This helped them in segregating those students.

So, top NLUs such as NLS, NALSAR, NUJS and GNLU, who have their placements early next month its a much welcome move for the meritorious move. This move would help both the firms in selecting deserving students since ppl who got in through contacts and also the ppl who got in properly through marks but didn't know a thing and therefore didn't bag a PPO, this would be more or less a curtains for them.

A great move indeed for whichever firms actually implement this highly successful policy.
You're not making any sense. Why would someone shortlist a student for day zero who has already got a PPO? And speaking from experience, KCO has never followed any such policy. They mostly shortlist on rank basis. The exceptions are those who have contacts or have got good reviews from KCO internships but missed out on PPO opportunities earlier.
For some clarity - most T1 firms, at least at NLS, have not shortlisted applicants who have previously interned with them. Their rationale is if an applicant failed to secure a PPO from their assessment internship, they don’t want to waste time interviewing the same people at day zero.
if you have interned earlier with kco, your chances of a day z shortlist depend on your internship feedback, not rank or anything else

the one guy who interned and got a day z offer at nluj had a partner recommendation at his internship so yeah, make sure your team gives a stellar recommendation if uve applied for day z with kco after interning
Some tier-2 nlu grad prolly frustrated over the evident dominance of the tier-1 nlus
Bhangiya chadha ke likhe ho kya be

Kachhu samajh mein nahiin aa rao
WRONG, NLUJ has just had its Day Zero, People who interned at KCO were shortlisted and even offered jobs
Why are you so jealous of the rankers and those who got the internship
