Maybe CNLU will become a tier-2 NLU now from its present tier-3 status. On a serious note, there are only 2 VCs in Indian legal history that have actually built top law schools from the ground-up - Madhava Menon (NLS and NUJS) and Ranbir Singh (NLUD and NALSAR).
This appointment is good for CNLU, a step down for FM after NALSAR, but FM is no institution-builder. He's not going to make CNLU great. NALSAR declined in his time and NLUD overtook it. Bajpai didn't make RGNUL great and SKD didn't do anything much for NLUO. All of them rode on the coat tails of their predecessors at their tier-1 NLUs. So, no real difference will be seen in the larger scheme, but students of CNLU might have it a little better now. Big loss for NLUJ though, FM could've helped that place cope with their domicile quota now.
When did CNLU came in tier 3 it was always in Tier 2. It was a negative bias towards bihar or patna. That lead to it. They have decent faculty, placement , library mooting achivement etc
Who is the founding VC of NLUO? Who held the post for 1term(3yrs). FM made lot of Institution building measures at NLUO due to which NLUO is where it is now. Whichever way you see it, Cuttack being so away from any Metropolis it couldnt have made a mark. Look at the institutes built after Cuttack and compare..FM ensured that nluo made its way up.
NLU D dudes taking 0.15 extra marks on Bogus NIRF to use adjectives like Nalsar had "declined" or how they are "way ahead". Dude even by the ranking that you swear by you are just 0.15 points ahead, that too after submitting fake salary data. Just chill. You are not in the same league as NLS or Nalsar. Nirf ranking has long been cancelled.
Youβve been marked trollish. Might want to stop embarrassing yourself. And Iβve seen NALSAR, itβs definitely not ahead of NLUD on any metric besides age.
Every now and then someone from NLS will throw a patronising bone to NALSAR and Nalsarites will say they're both in a different league. Reality check - NLUD has ranked ahead of NALSAR in NIRF "six" years in a row, hell, it's ranked ahead even in Outlook and other random rankings that old NLU folks used to swear by. Sorry, but NALSAR is simply not better. The only reason it's even on par is because it's older.
Itβs not about rankings but the point is if NALSAR were so much βbetterβ than NLUD as some of you claim, then surely it would be recognised to be so. Atleast in one year, it shouldβve ranked ahead. Itβs hasnβt. Not even when it had a salary data of 18 lacs in the first or second NIRF and NLUD had like 13-14 (since thatβs the main gripe for all the losers here). Ergo, itβs not that much better.
No, Mamata wants absolute subservience and will not choose Faizan. He may be anti-BJP but he will not be her servant and will speak his mind. He will also allow open debate and not allow cancel culture nonsense like Governors being uninvited. So thatβs why he will remain at CNLU.
Great! This has never come out in the open. As in, we all chipped in during the entire 'revolution' to Keep NALSAR great, but later we realized that Fuzzy had some really deep things going on (not providing faculty members their service regulations was just one of them)
