It may help you get a foot in the door of a competition practice. As a junior, it will help you have cross-border understanding of issues - things that others may spend time researching on, you may already have learnt from some top notch professors or practitioners in your LLM. As you grow senior, and it also becomes important to know more people and not just the law, the networking done during your LLM may bear fruit as your counter parts would also be in fairly senior positions across the world.
Its still not a must have - many competition partners have risen through the ranks simply through learning and applying themselves at their jobs.

I don't have the money for an LLM, and I probably won't ever put 50 Lakh aside for it, even when I have the money. How badly will my career be affected? Is it really that necessary? TT&A, LKS, trilegal, luthra have partners with LLMs.
And the partners that do not have LLMs, used to work with CCI.
Someone please clarify the significance of an LLM
