Sorry, moderator, that is not true. Most firms just ask for a rank list and interview accordingly. HRs are too lazy to sort out CVs by individual strengths and partners are too busy to do so. In most cases, partners look at CVs for the first time during the interview.
Most firms / employers want to see a balanced CV that showcases different interests, not necessarily only one or two... Though some firms might prefer one more than others...?
