True story: at Jindal there was a top student who was interested in human rights law (and is currently a human rights lawyer). He just submitted his CV for placements for the heck of it. He was called for a CAM interview. The partner saw that all his electives were on human rights and all his internships were with NGOs. The partner asked him to pick any legal subject on which he would to be asked a question, and the dude replied "International Refugee Law". The partner lost his cool and told him: "What is this nonsense? Why did you send your CV to us"? He replied: "Sir, but your firm shortlisted my CV."
I don't think trilegal would've shortlisted him tho
Unless you have interned with that firm before and done really well / you have contacts. The only real criteria is grades. It’s hard for firms to figure out what you did in your internships. And unless you win jessup or vis or something - it’s hard to properly figure out what value your mooting achievements have. Like honestly firms don’t care. You have none of those things but are in top 10% of your class ? You’ll still get shortlisted.
