hello! I'll be going in new to nalsar this year and have quite some time on my hands, now I keep wondering how good or bad it might be there. I heard there are possibly a whole bunch of stereotypes, issues and whatnot that comes as a package with every college but still thought it'd be nice if someone who's already been there for a while could advise me on anything to look out for or keep in mind? I'd love to get a few casual tips to remember on my first day maybe? :)
My first tip is that your first set of friends will rarely be your best friends, so chill. You will develop your best friends over time.
My second tip is that you should steer clear of cultures wars and politics. If you are politically conservative then you will be in a tiny minority, so keep quiet.
okay that kind of(?) makes me feel better too cause I don't know a single person from my batch yet. Was genuinely counting on my first day to make friends but then got a little worried thinking of possibly ending up a loner since literally everyone(very literally) else is already in some group I left 5 minutes after I joined :') I just want to find atleast one nice and sane person to be friends with, and hopefully a normal, non toxic and chill roommate too cause I can't imagine dealing w anything else for 5 years.
thanks for this cause I was especially worried about that haha. I think someone made a group already around 2 months ago, I did join for like 5 minutes but... let's just say there were a LOT of messages, so much spamming, so I thought hey, there's a long time for college to start this probably wont make me a loner then, ..but I started having second thoughts now :)
Be nice to the staff, always. Kitchen, admin, guards, everyone. Don't let your insecurities hijack you. Be pleasant, be curious. You're going to live there for 5 years. They will go by more easily if you learn to chill out and get on with people. Also someone or the other will eventually hate on you if you do get on with people. Ignore them and do you.
LMAO, true. Do NOT be the King. Will prolly get arrested later in life if you do try. Won't have an admin tussle going on to save you from fines and other stuff.
