The questions stands as above - can one skip a particular at a NLU (if he or she shows stellar academic prudence). The doubt arises from the fact that some universities (predominantly in US tho) do transfer credentials to a succeeding year and the person can get promoted.

You can’t” skip” a year. University isn’t school and the subjects were teaching year to year are distinct and only somewhat related. They’re not usually sequential. If you’re doing calculus and you have prior knowledge you can take a test to show that you belong in calc 301 instead of calc 101.
But if you did very well in contracts that doesn’t mean you know consti law.
You’ll need a number of credits to graduate also.
Having said that- I did know one person who took so many extra credits in his fourth year that his fifth year was basically free. The university didn’t have rules for finishing early- but he spent the time interning.
he was not "allowed". he simply took twice the number of credits in his fourth year so he could have his last semester free. it was an extremely risky move, any other student would have failed credits in his shoes. idk why the hurry tbh.
This was not a risk. He must have 2-3 drop years before grad and that’s why he did it. He should be appreciated tho for doing this - which leads me to the question , is he from a NLU?
HOW IS THIS ALLOWED, i think he still had to do the practical papers in 5th year like those on ADR, Moot Court and Internship, Paralegal and Legal Aid etc. This is because these are mandatory courses according to the Bar Council of India Rules on Education. Also what you mean by so many extra credits? Is it courses offered by the university or summer school? Because in many private universities summer school credit is also not added as they say the Bar Council does not recognise it or allow for adding of more credits
Don’t think moot court/ internship etc is mandatory course. It’s just something you do if you’re interested in it. ADR and Legal aid - they were scam courses cause bad teacher and defunct clinic. That’s not work. Look it’s not a crazy thing - we needed 200 credits to graduate back then. You had to do 20 a semester. This guy was a beast - he did 80 in the 4th year instead of 40. Maybe he had one core course he had to do once a week. But he spent most of his fifth year interning. Most likely the clinical course was a sham and he didn’t need any electives. Obviously the state of your education isn’t very rigorous if your students are able to do 40 credits extra in a year. Or maybe he’s an exceptional student. I haven’t seen anyone at this institution repeat this at all.

Having said that, the closest I can envision to a situation like what you outline will be participating in an international moot and getting a limited number if exemptions with respect to submissions and exams, your moot memo will be evaluated instead. Most certainly won't apply to the entire year, though.
As usual everyone has failed to answer the query properly . As per Part 2 (XV) of the BCI regulations, there is an option of “Lateral Exit” which states that as a person can opt out , “ at the third year after successfully completing the courses upto third year in a five integrated course”
Haan you can. Maybe at Nalsar. Under Chapter 2 , Credit regulations:- 2nd/3rd year students can take extra credit courses and prolly skip a semester maybe in the fifth year which will allow them to graduate early. The schedule of the course should not clash with the schedule of the mandatory courses and you are good to go 👍. You can also accumulate extra credits through other means for instance moot mentorship . But they will prolly not waive off semester .
Yes early graduation is definitely possible but you also need to have stellar grades. It’s not a cakewalk. Over the course of history only 4 people opted for early grad and only 3 have been able to make it
