Interestingly, a former team lead who has since moved to another firm is said to frequent back to resolve internal issues between team members.
The team is significantly mislabeled - due to a lack of general corporate work, they end up handling roughly 90% of labour and employment matters instead. Over time, the more capable individuals have left, while those who remain are widely considered problematic.
Juniors are disrespectful and behave as though they are the ones running the show. The work quality has also been called into question, with opposing parties having had to step in to fix them.
first, the bad - comments are correct to the extent that primary work is WC & L&E (which btw are the biggest pain points for MNCs to navigate in India); They have a very big client that is at the forefront of a lot of issues in e-commerce, so the understanding that this team has (especially Sumit Ghoshal and Rachit) regarding that sector of the law is unmatched.
The good - both Rachit and Rohan are extremely nice people, super accessible and easy to approach. Rachit has low patience for ill-thought out research, but is uber receptive to well-done work. Rohan is one of the nicest people I've met in this industry, and has tracked data privacy from the get-go.
Tech practice in India itself is largely championed by MNC issues. A lot of criticism levied here can as easily be said about a lot of other people.
On timings of 10:30 to 10, I would say, it can only come as a thought to someone who has to โshowโ respect.
Only 2 partners out 9 know companies law/ fema
If you are on path to become a GC / go in house - donโt come to this team. They only do commercial laws like consumer protection, legal metrology.
Most work is on commercial laws or labour laws. TMT work is negligible and majorly of their cash cow client.
2. Work quality is good, but culture is very servile. Juniors have to worship seniors, seniors worship clients
3..no work like balance
4. Focus is billing billing billing
Do they hire freshers?
