Stellar disputes CV of law students. The delusion of the new gen is so palpable!
In order of number of hirings:
1. Gen Corp and M&A
2. Capital Markets

3. Banking and Finance

4. Projects and Infra

5. Dispute Resolution

6. Competition

7. Tax
It's absolutely true. I'm from a T1 NLU. Some really good students with stellar disputes CV were not even shortlisted for interviews.
Absolutely true. A lot of firms at D0 directly reject people whose practice area is Dispute Resolution.
bump. same. 5th year student on the verge of graduation - someone please chime in!
Someone please rank the practice areas according to the number of hires
what about the disputes team with the Tier 1 law firms ?
will i ever get there
how much the contacts work in the office.
I dont have any contact what shall I do
GC teams are usually bulky in T1 so more hires, but as long as your CV has a direction you can expect a job in the practice area you are interested in.
I did not know this wow. 4 Years of Law School and my CV is 80% arbitration/com lit., wtf do I even do now
Just pointing out that you might also want to consider the fact that exponentially more people apply for GC & M&A positions than other highly specialised verticals.
Hi. Thanks for the interesting question. If someone knows the scene about TMT/Tech & IPR/Fintech etc too, please chime in.
