@Kian - The Sol Firms can't do without the army of quite talented Court Clerks, who are mostly Marathis and/or from Non-mercantile backgrounds.
The comment was reported and has a tendency to promote trollish regionalism in follow-ups. It's also probably untrue - Bombay without the Marathis and local people would not be what it is either. The city is surely bigger than just Colaba, Fort and Marine Drive architecture?
Kian, why has this been marked as trollish? Not OP but OP's comment is absolutely true as far as bringing in labour, capital or industry is concerned.
exactly,
gujjus, parsis, and britishers made it what it is.
they've hardly done anything.
but they will make it sound as if all of the Marathi were Maharaj Shivaji Rao themselves.
The credit for developing Bombay goes to the British, the Gujjus and the Parsis. Marathis have hardly played a role in making the city what it is today.
You didn't develop it by yourself. The people from other states had a very meaty role to play in that development.
There should be some reservation in Mumbai Law Firms for Locals and Marathi people.

It's our state, we developed it. If you want to work in your state, who is stopping you from improving/ economically developing your own state.
This is true of aspects of commercial life in Mumbai and has been for a century if not more.
