Placements. It's all we want.
P.S.- Willing to sell myself to the devil for it.
They have a dedicated Placement Cell and team which is very positive and aggressive be it Internships or Placement which has become extinct in law schools these days.
Good going NMIMS.
Hope few of my colleagues from final year get great placememts too.
Fingers crossed.
Best of luck NMIMS.
While I have heard of NMIMS' attendance policy, I haven't really come across their teams excelling across "all domains". At least I haven't seen much participation at our events. You may be better informed, though. Either way, good on you NMIMS!
P.S. Would have preferred if you'd have chosen a different nom de plume on this thread (e.g. GLC2), to avoid confusion.
Yes, agree with Bombay College - placements are worth selling yourself to the devil, as thats all that matters to a fresher out of college looking forward to kick start a career.
Good luck fellas !
1. These are excellent placements, better than most NLUs (except the top 6), and deserve to be applauded. NMIMS enters my top 10-15 list of suggested law colleges.
2. The stats vindicate the theses of 'prefer a good college in Delhi or Mumbai over joining a lesser ranked NLU'.
3. Placements are a tiny part of legal education, but when the rubber meats the road, they are perhaps the most important.
The only thing that comes close to 'placements' (in an undergrad education) is the quality of the peer group (and there's no reason to believe that NMIMS does not offer that).
As far as faculty goes (which should be an important criteria), India just does not have enough resources (incentives, training, pedagogy) or processes (UGC mandates, buereaucracy) to get more than 10 law colleges quality law teachers.
The quality of faculty is bad throughout (only NLUD and JGLS have a good cohort) which makes it fit to remove 'faculty' as a 'criteria' altogether.
