- - I'm in my early 30s with 9+ years of experience in tech, AI, data, and digital/technical content — across both freelance and full-time corporate roles.
- - My background is in Computer Science and I have a Master’s in Data Science & AI.
- - I currently/used to work at a global tech firm in a remote role. My current compensation is roughly equivalent to what a top 10% NLS graduate might earn as a fresher in a Tier-1 Indian law firm.

The Dilemma:

- - I’ll be 35+ by the time I graduate.
- - I’m deeply interested in transitioning into corporate law, with a focus on Tier-1 Indian firms or tech-law/compliance niches — and potentially a future LL.M. + international role.
- - Given my background, I’m particularly drawn to areas like data protection, AI regulation, fintech law, and tech transactions.

My Questions:

- - Is it realistic to aim for top corporate law roles at my age — either in India or through the LL.M. + international route?
- - Will law firms (or in-house roles) value my domain experience if I position myself in tech-facing legal areas?
- - Does being a late-30s graduate affect placement or growth in Indian corporate law firms?
- - Any success stories of people who made a mid-career switch through the 3-year LL.B. would be incredibly helpful.
- - I’m not currently considering litigation due to my age, financial urgency, and being a first-generation lawyer. But do let me know if you think there's a viable path I’m overlooking.
