To the people who’ve been placed in good firms, I’m aware of my acumen and I know I’ll do well. I’ve done good internships. The issue is the constant noise, in college everyone is chasing the same checklist like 2 moots, 3 papers and all that. Moots honestly feel nonsensical to me, I just don’t see the value. That said, I do have three papers ready across different areas, all centred around corporate and commercial law, but my headache right now is figuring out where to publish them. How do recruiters actually treat journal publications? Of course Scopus indexed journals are considered top tier, but does it really make such a big difference? Do publications in regular journals like ILR type or other decent law school journals not carry much weight? I just want to get my publications done and move on instead of endlessly scrolling through Lawctopus trying to find the right journals. I’m otherwise quite efficient with my work and studies and I stay updated, just need some clear practical guidance on this.
