We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

I'm 30, five years out, two in my hometown (lockdown years, so effectively stunted) and three in Delhi covering district courts, DHC, some criminal, civil and administrative matters. I went independent earlier than I should have because staying wasn't an option given how things were with seniors. Independence hasn't worked the way I hoped. Network hasn't responded the way I expected, income has been inconsistent, and if I'm being straight with myself, the lack of work has made me a bit rusty despite having done some genuinely good work when opportunities came.
I've decided to switch to corporate, TMT and data privacy specifically. The plan is clear, the resources are identified, I know exactly what I need to do. The problem is I can't seem to trust any one plan fully and actually follow through consistently. Lots of thinking, not enough doing. Confidence has taken a hit and rebuilding it while also preparing for a switch is harder than I anticipated.
Two things I'd genuinely like advice on from people who've actually been through this, does an LLM abroad meaningfully improve your chances at 30 with my profile, or is it expensive signalling that doesn't justify the cost and time? And if you've been through a phase where you knew what needed to be done but couldn't consistently execute, what actually helped you bridge that gap? Not looking for motivation, looking for what practically worked.
