If you ask him, he would probably say he is doing it because he is ambitious and trying to build something of his own. From a personal standpoint, I can understand that. At the same time, it does raise an interesting question from the firmโs perspective - particularly when Tier 1 firms often have minimum billing thresholds, which can make it difficult for younger lawyers who are not yet partners to independently originate and service smaller mandates within the firm. So, while the arrangement is certainly debatable from a conflict and employment-policy perspective, one can also understand why some lawyers end up taking this route.
Having said that I have several private clients who can not afford Law Firm services whom I cater to personally. I even take help from the Firm's CS / CA at times. I end up making a couple of lakhs every month which is a pretty penny at any level (I am more on a Junior Partner level btw; and in a kinda sorta tier 1)
A โฎโฎโฎ โฎโฎโฎ example is of a โฎโฎโฎ who had his ass whooped at โฎโฎโฎ when the โฎโฎโฎ found out his firm clients were being attended to โdirectlyโ by this โฎโฎโฎ. Rumour has it that โฎโฎโฎ was asked to pack โฎโฎโฎ bags and leave overnight.
