In 2018, Seth was accused of sexual harassment by over 20 women that included model Diandra Soares,[32] filmmaker Natashja Rathore, and writer Ira Trivedi, in a social media backlash referred to as India's MeToo movement. This led to Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, terminating Seth as its brand consultant.[33][34][35]
This followed beverage maker Coca-Cola's public release that its long-standing association with Seth and his company, Counselage, stands dissolved. "He is not a consultant for the board or company presently", the statement said, adding that it took this step in the wake of ongoing allegations against Suhel in the #MeToo movement.[36]
Post Coca-Cola, Adani Group too reportedly terminated Suhel's contract as branding consultant. The group stated the contract that had ended in September 2018 shall not be renewed. "Mr Suhel Seth was consulted for a short-term project which expired in September 2018. He is no longer associated with the Adani Group.", it said on Twitter.[37] Two other Indian conglomerates, Mahindra Group and JSW Group, followed suit claiming not to be associated with Seth on any project.[38]
Grokipedia:
In October 2018, amid the #MeToo movement in India, Suhel Seth, managing partner of the consulting firm Counselage India, faced multiple public allegations of sexual misconduct from at least six women, including claims of forcible kissing, groping, and assaultspanning incidents from 2009 to 2017.[4][6] The accusations surfaced primarily on social media platforms like Twitter, with women detailing encounters at parties, professional meetings, and private settings.[66]Key accusers included model Diandra Soares, who alleged Seth forcibly kissed her at a New Delhi party, attempting to insert his tongueinto her mouth, prompting her to bite him in resistance; filmmaker Natashja Rathore, who claimed he threw himself at her, kissed her against her will, and grabbed her breast; and journalist Mandakini Gehlot, who described an unwanted tongue kiss during a hug.[4]Writer Ira Trivedi and others, including a creative producer who accused him of luring her to his home under false pretenses before forcing himself on her, contributed further accounts of harassment and power abuse.[4][66] Additional claims involved indecent messages and molestation, with one accuser estimating Seth's pattern could implicate over 1,000 women based on his social circles.[6][66]Seth issued no public denial or response to the allegations, maintaining silence by ceasing social media activity after October 10, 2018, and not replying to media inquiries, including emails and calls from outlets like Scroll.in.[6] The claims prompted immediate professional fallout, with the Tata Group announcing on October 29, 2018, the termination of Seth's consultancy contract following an internal review, citing the seriousness of the accusations.[4][67] Other corporate clients, including those associated with Counselage India, faced public pressure to sever ties, though no criminal charges or formal investigations were reported as outcomes of these allegations.[66]
