Itโ€™s the end of competition law in India. Theyโ€™ll have to trim the teams. Unless the digital competition bill shows up (which will also bring upon very limited work)
The Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2026 bill is coming. The NCLAT now gets judicial oversight through the NTC. Much overdue.
This has to be the most high-brow conversation here ... whoosh! Write somewhere with a better audience.
A walk down the aisle of this forum tells you that is not true.
Blaming this on suo moto power is just misdirection - you're right.
Thanks, man. Glad that I summoned the patience to read it.
The merger control notices are sent by the combination division- thatโ€™s an entirely different exercise. The comment above is talking about something completely different.
Don't pass defamatory statements here. The competition bar of T1 lawyers at CAM, SAM, Tri, JSA, etc is a class apart and absolutely unimpeachable in respect of their integrity.
This practice has been dying. For all those asking - here is the reason. A badly made regularor that is also badly led.

Add to that the condition of the competition bar. All they do is call each other names when the rug was pulled from underneath them.
They still do. Thats how they send their merger control notices. Nothing else.
Agree.

Too many people wanted their name in the limelight or on a cause title. Google cases come to mind.

Lasting damage.

Nevertheless India has a whole and Indian firms as a whole struggles with the concept of conflict of interest.
Dont write too much.
