If attrition wasn't high, then given the number of people the T1s recruit every year, they would have expanded to multiple times the size they are currently at.
That’s a tale made up by people who can’t gather the audacity to quit their toxic tier 1 job. Been there, done that, and a tier one job is the least sought after thing for a person who actually believes in themselves.
Grass is always greener on the other side ! As your T1 buddies are they really happy with their lives. They just stay for the pay check that’s it

I left a 90LPA job and joined a chamber back home that gets me around 20-24LPA, including client and side bonuses.

Moved back to my place and left the big city behind for good.
