LLM and PhD should be completely banned for students just passing time.
Better to prepare one year for MBA, two years at MBA and invest 3 years there than this hellhole called PhD. Absolutely thrash, especially in India.
And who's going to sponsor that ? Not everyone is rich enough to afford studying abroad. Hell, even a TOFEL or IELTS score requires 20k for the examination.
That's not the point. The point is that they will atleast let you choose a supervisor from your specialisation. Not a random law professor.
But they will still provide you with a specialist from your chosen topic, if not, they would assign a co-guide for you that's an expert in your field. They don't throw an arbitration PhD scholar to a Animal law expert.
Best post ever. Keep it pinned to the top Mods !!!!
Most, but not all. NUS, for instance, does not require you to email.
that's very risky. I would never do a phd in which there's no option to choose a supervisor.
Unlike international universities, in india we cannot choose our supervisors. So it's your luck.
We need more and more researchers, but we need better and better teachers as well. Please do not encourage unenthusiastic professors.
Future researcher and phd are two different things. First find out the difference and then comment
one caveat - the main thing is the right supervisor. if you get them invested early you can have a honest chat with them about how the program works.
We need more and more researchers. Please do not discourage future researchers.
Would Jgls actually be a bad option? I'm doing it from a top tier NLU but wouldn't Jindal have a similar reputation as, say, BITS Pilani in engineering, in the sense that it is constantly competing with top IITs.
Finally a post that's worth reading. Kuddos OP. Nailed it
