Even in terms of growth, Jindal has IOE status and a good QS rank. Professorship here will be recognised as regular work ex when applying for VCship positions at NLUs (if the selection panel is fair and unbiased). Plus they have degrees from overseas institutions and a good publication record. Both of them probably are eyeing NLU VCships at some point, but they could have easily applied while staying at Jindal.
Thus, I am inclined to believe the view that it was faculty and admin politics that drove them away.

Sreejith felt deeply alienated by Raj and the upper management, noting that he was treated like a subordinate rather than a peer. He openly expressed frustration regarding his removal as the Executive Dean of JGLS, both in terms of the decision itself and how it was handled. Furthermore, he found little substance in his subsequent appointment to a Dean position within the Office of the VC, viewing it as a role devoid of real authority or meaningful responsibility.
If, on the other hand, it is because they were victims of politics, then that is indeed unfortunate. Not taking any names, but a certain person (who is not popular with students and is quite biased) has been given too much power.
