OP is also largely correct but I would place NLUJ > GNLU (only by a very slight margin.

I am familiar with almost every faculty member in the above-mentioned places personally. Nothing against anyone, this is just an objective assessment keeping in mind teaching, research and reputation across academia, also student feedback. NLS has done great on this front in the last four years and is miles ahead of the others, which will be the greatest legacy of Sudhir I feel. Recruiting quality people every six months through four-five years at a stretch is not an easy feat for any public university.
How would you rank NALSAR, NUJS, NLUJ and GNLU ?
My ranking would be - NALSAR/NUJS, GNLU>=NLUJ.
