The NRI quota seats get counted within the total number of seats based on which reservation percentages are calculated. So a separate reservation within that quota isn't legally required. These aren't supernumerary seats.
One of the few times i've been bamboozled by a post in LI
bhai yaha NRI seats challenge hone wale hai and you want to introduce caste reservations within it. Waah.
Not if that takes away one seat from a poor SC/ST/OBC, which this suggestion will do. Someone even mentioned how that will happen above.
If you're a rich guy with reservations, then you can afford the necessary coaching to crack the standard reservation cut off anyway.
this might be the worst take i've heard all year; do people on this forum lack basis sense?
It's not only about the ancestors, lakhs of UCs are still practising and perpetuating such inequality all across the country even today. If you claim ignorance about that, then you don't know much about the country that you live in.
If the cut-off for caste quota seats is much lower than the cut-off for NRI quota seats, then why do people have a problem with NRI quota? πŸ€”
Money. NLUs need it. You can call them management seats if that helps.
Okay, you and all other students who want to abolish the quota can pay the extra money to the NLUs then.
but what about the funds they bring to the college? these nlus do not get the funding from state and truly depend on these fees to run the college. if the funding problem can be fixed, then yes nri sponsored quotas should be abolished.
