We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

I've done my LLB from a tier 1 NLU and my LLM from a local private university. The difference is not in the brand, but what you make of the brand. I was lazy and stupid during my LLB and I didn't capitalise on the opportunities there. Just spent days doing makrabaazi. Almost dropped out.
Later, I joined an LLM in a private university since I couldn't even clear CLAT PG. So I took the opportunity and just ran with it. Every single thing that was happening in the university, I applied for, and participated, connected and worked around.
In the end, I joined a tier 1 law firm. It wasn't because of the brand, it was because of the hustle I did for that one year.
The drawback, I arrived a year later in the same firm my batchmates had already secured a year prior. It wasn't the brand that cost me, it was my own laziness.
The famous Dr. APJ Kalam was from MIT, not Massachusetts but Madras, and that didn't deter him to be one of the greatest. Brands show you the door, ultimately you are the one who has to walk through it.
Forget about brands and tiers, focus on your skills and knowledge, opportunities will come, be ready for them.
Don't just say because they order old. Symbiosis is much older and yet can not even match 20% of the placements of NLS/NALSAR/NUJS ?
My friend and I were talking to someone from Christ Bangalore who was interning along with some other students from NLS/NUJS. I prepped for CLAT back in the day and managed to get NALSAR with under 100 rank (Yes there was a time when NLS didn't have 100 seats for UG) and back in the day I used to hear about Christ being really good. However the intern told me, they try to slip of their college names in convos so as to not make it obvious they are from christ or else it brings them shame.
I do not support this "College Brand" culture. Yet who cares, the people above me will still go to Bangalore or kolkata for just 1 college.
