The issue is that the joining date for the PPO is now quite close, and I am unsure about the most professional way to go about declining it at this stage.Would appreciate guidance from people who may have been in a similar situation or from recruiters.
1. Is it considered acceptable to decline a PPO this close to joining if done respectfully ? How much detail should one give while communicating the decision? Is it better to call the recruiting team/partner first before sending a formal mail? Does this usually end up seriously burning bridges with the firm?
How much detail? Just say personal reasons/got an opp that better aligns with your professional goals
call recruiting team? Absolutely No. Just send a polite mail to the HR apologizing for the inconvenience.
Does this burn bridges? The firm might blacklist you for future opportunities but if you are declining an offer now then you should not be thinking of joining the firm again in future.
