The reality is that we are oil and gas dependant. The Gulf sources were nearest and everything there has gone for a toss. Even if the war ends, the pumping and loading capacities are badly eroded and will come back online after some more years. Till then it will be a scramble from sources much further away. And no one cares about how refining is done. We don't just pump oil drawn from the wells into the vehicles. And oil isn't just vehicles.
Be that as it may, India will do well to push hard on electrification. Why make domestic cooking gas dependant. Ensure better, stable and always available electricity. And bring mission speed to thorium fueled nuclear energy.
