Referral makes no difference at all, the team doesn’t know if you’ve been selected due to a referral or your merit. I’ve personally seen the quality of people who’ve come from referrals to be much lower than the ones who get selected through the university process, which is why they get less PPOs and callbacks. But there’s such a dearth of good interns, if you’re a good intern you’ll get a callback, even if you got the internship through a referral.

um and if someone has connections, what's wrong with that? that does not make them any less deserving given how lousy most tier 1 HRs are. people cry about nepotism until it benefits them personally.

Yes they’re definitely lousy, no stipend and all i understand, but some firms have different durations, and also within the firm they clearly say sometimes that no callback for referrals. Atleast thats what I experienced in a Tier 1 in Noida

i’ve noticed across tier 1s (especially delhi ncr), the call backs/ppo situation for interns with referrals is very uncertain. are cam, sam, kco, azb and tri really not giving referral interns assessments and ppos? can someone please shed some light? and if someone has been able to score one despite having connections then too please share the firm that does not discriminate thanks!
