I would like to emphasise that the NUJS administration gives students access to counselling faculties and has a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.
Irrespective of whether this was an accident or self-inflicted, this is not the first time a student has died by a fall in the hostel. The message is clear:
- Make the railings in the veranda full-length vertically, so that no human body can slip through
- Improve the hostel facilities: A duty, overcrowded hostel breeds negative feelings. A clean, spacious hostel gives positive vibes. The current condition of the hostel is literally like a slum.
- Have more recreation facilities on campus to remove stress. Maybe you don’t have enough space for a football field, but you can make space for badminton, table tennis, snooker, board games etc.
- Finally, ban all mentally toxic influences on campus, especially dividing politics.
