What prompts tenured senior people to leave?
Every year ... That playbook is getting old now.
One more delhi based 'specialized' team leaving soon
What really happened. How and why did it all start? They were doing so well. Seemed to have a good governance and emolument system in place and then suddenly all this drama.
Another senior partner exit coming up. Brace yourselves

Yes, he is a bigger rainmaker and can easily replace LV.

There is another one who has a similarly big if not bigger cabin and she is not rainmaker. It's all about who the shroffs like and who they do not. If they like you then you fly. If they don't then you fall to the ground and get stomped on.
In these lala firms you can only grow so much as the lala wants you to grow. The minute you become a threat for the lala or his ego, your wings are clipped and you're flipped out.
The actual bit is that everyone is not cut out for servitude.

Our part of the floor will be a lot quieter now. What will we do for entertainment?
One more left today. Another group talking. True?
Or whether there should be dandiya or holi.
What shit. He only made it rain for himself. Never supported any other practice. Thats not how rainmakers work.
In CAM case, the leadership is itself blinded by false narratives and representations of a select few sycophants.
The larger question is what will these partners do in AZB.

EP doesn't mean rainmaker. There are rainmakers who are not EPs and then there are EPs who couldn't get a matter even if they tried.

What was the reason or main issue? I heard that there was major disagreement
Well…. He did serve CAM well. Maybe we can focus on the actual important bits
Anuja used to report to Rachika at one point in time. Now Anuja is a senior partner and R will basically report to her?
I hear AZB has been growing their Infra and Energy practise both on the transaction side and the disputes/ regulatory side.. there are some good guys there.. this could be AZB’s attempt to grow it bigger!!
When you’re a leader — no matter how long you’ve been in your role or how hard the journey was to get there — you are merely overhead unless you’re bringing out the best in your employees. Unfortunately, many leaders lose sight of this says HBS ! Lesson in there !
so basically the infra projects practice has gone to shit now?

what will azb do with this influx of infra partners
It is - just check Ajay’s old cabin once - you don’t get it unless you are a rainmaker. Largest behind Shroffs and LV.
CAM Delhi HR is the reason why many people leave. It’s the worst out there. Reason for many exits.
Lol. Why did you not say 3.75 crores? Do you even understand 2 EPs have left?

Running around like headless chickens trying to make head or tail of the shit storm that hit em.

So what. The whiz kid from barafbaazi and co will make three times that.
Standard reaction. Exits at CAM are NEVER graceful.
What was the reason or fight between the lala and generals
Very sad whatever that is going on. Good people leaving.
Not at all any loss. CAM is a very large platform.
It will be whoever the gods trust or whoever is the flavour of the season for them. Basically whoever can take the daily shit that is served up.
Word is that one of the guys- his team has shown him the middle finger. CAM HR is in full earn your keep mode.
CAM: We played you, didn’t you see?

AS, KA, BV, RS & AM: We changed the game, didn’t you see?

Karma !
There is a whole list of partners at CAM who have left and come back. It is very common in Tier 1 law firms.
Ajay, Aditi, Bhup, Rachika and Kapil - 30 crore revenue out
Neither Lalla not Lala has any respect for generals or those who mean well.
I also heard the same news. He along with his team is moving to another Tier 1 law firm
So who will now be the head of north India? Anuradha? Akila? Ravi?
Sources- They have been asked to leave immediately. Whats the tea?
PA's are partners in making. If they imbibe proper BD and execution skills then they are the future. There are PA's that shoot better than Partners. So yes, PA going is a big indication that a firm does not value those who show promise.
Dont thing anyone with an ounce of self respect will leave and go back there.
No respect period. The system will never change.
Big if true, but where are they going? No one cares about a PA resigning but partners resigning is a big deal.
While there may be rumours and they may indeed be true, this is part and parcel of Tier 1 functioning. It’s the nature of the market. You never know when they will be back once again.
Same as always. Lalla has no respect for his Generals, they do their best to change the system, get frustrated and leave.
Heard that the Delhi head with one more equity partner from disputes and three more partners resigned today with teans. Last week some PA also resigned. Then one complete team resigned. Another senior partner also resigned earlier in the year. What is going on there?
