This is called real funding. Not only does NFSU gets massive funding from the MHA, even the respective state governments are also pitching in. Love this.

UK, using India as an example, must be quite unsettling for all NLU students, as they are in the habit of going ga-ga over UK universities and scholarships. This is playing out in reverse.
First, the critical importance of forensic sciences in the modern-day legal domain cannot be overstated. There's no such thing as too much forensic science. Law without forensic science is like commerce without accounting.
Second, the proposed National Institute of Forensic Science in the UK shows how farsighted India has been in establishing the NFSU. So if anyone thinks that NFSU is competing with the NLUs, they must be delusional. NFSU's mandate and mission are much broader and critical to the country's legal ecosystem.
Key points to take note:
1. NFSU does not look for examples; it is an example.
2. The generous public funding that NFSU receives is more than justified.
3. NFSU is truly an Institution of National Importance, not just in label.
The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee has recommended the creation of a National Institute for Forensic Science to oversee best practice, drive research and development, preserve specialist skills, ensure independence of forensic evidence, and enhance justice delivery.
