Three months which can be negotiate by either bhai-chara or becoming a non-cooperative npa who is just leeching free money or maybe one month with the option to buy out the period not being served - basically two months salary to be paid to the law firm.
Every law firm is aware of random notice periods placed by other law firms. They hire nevertheless.
Hello sir,

Please ignore all of these brainless LI commentators. Kindly provide your mail id, as I want to share my CV over it.
I don't care. I'm a third generation lawyer and my family owns offices in 4 cities. I can say shut up to any of T1 firm senior partner at this point of time.
Does a 3 months of notice period which I have in a tier 2 law firm will restrict my scope to switch further? Are other law firms willing to wait for 3 months for an associate to join the team? I am an A1.
I post a message at night in WhatsApp group that from tomorrow I won't be there.

This is my notice period.
This seems like a more relevant question than most of the posts on LL.
Title basically, just want to know the duration of notice period at different law firms and does it affect moving laterally?
