Why is it that when good-looking people get a job based on how they look, people don't like it?
Because the benefit from a job given based on connection is probably acceptable in the context of a business unit but not so much so for a one given on how one looks.

I am so good looking that the partner interviewing me thought I had inadvertently walked into his law firm mistaking it to be a modeling agency. I knew right then that 97.5% of my job was done.

Actual explanation: Good looking people can be below them in social hierarchies whereas connected people are already elite and i recently learned that people treat elites better or what they perceive as elite like doctors

Both are looked down. But good looking ones get relatively more hate because most Indian cultures have repeatedly ingrained into people's minds that focussing on beauty= vainess = narcisstic sin.
