P.S. This was also expected and speculated about on LI. Some obscure lawyer was spinning rumours on social media that he would get the seat —- was never in contention. Anyone can spread any nonsense rumour!

So who was the obscure lawyer being alluded in an earlier post? Some had claimed that Mani Aiyar was trashing Rahul Baba to get a shot at RS. That was quite a red herring.
Also, could it be that maybe Gopal was about to be offered, but Mamata made a last minute switch and offered it to Menaka after her rant against Raju? Because the media in Bengal is suggesting that was the turning point.

Also, where is this theory coming from that certain very senior people were responsible for the case? In most cases, it is the junior lawyers, who do the heavy lifting and seniors who take the credit.
Yes, maybe other lawyers were involved but very credible sources have acknowledged them as akin to Player of the Match. Their role was equivalent to the innings that Sanju Samson played yesterday.
