1. It does not have a campus or hostel. The hostel is around 30 minutes away from the campus and we have a bus schedule. The rooms in the hostel are 3 or 6 sharing. We shifted there in 2024 due to the ceiling of the earlier hostel building falling, but even in this one (managed by YourSpace), we have had instances of fire, water logging and are not even provided meals. Despite assurances by the VC, absolutely nothing has changed (except that the fans are not catching fire again, for now)
2. The placements are non-existent. The Placement Cell of MNLU Mumbai dodges work and accountability. They mass quit because some students expressed dissatisfaction with how they were working. Now they have announced a combined Day Z for the 2026 and 27 batch, but they don’t have any dates or firms in place yet. The 2026 batch has only 13 placements so far, out of which only 4 were through college. This is the so called location advantage. You also cannot do running internships btw due to class timings, and the attendance policy is also going to become more stringent come next semester thanks to our dear HoD.
3. The majority of the students here are from reserved category, and the bar for the faculty is in hell. Most of them are Marathi and all the OG faculty (which was halfway decent) has left. More than anything, the HoD seems to be on a personal mission to ensure we do not get placements. Keeps trying to change the attendance policy to ensure students cannot intern mid-semester, constantly power trips students he does not like, has a talent for hiring the most incompetent faculty, and is extremely political with his leftist ideas. There are literally just 3 professors in this entire college who teach well and do not vilify students in the name of politics.
4. The safeguards for students are also non-existent. There is no internal complaints committee for sexual harassment despite it being an explicit demand in protests last semester, and the professors in it are openly misogynistic. The student bar council was disbanded last semester after protests related to casteism and sexual harassment, but has not been reconstituted.
