Legal AI Platforms such as Harvey and Legora use these LLMs and provide them tailored context to make them more effective for legal workflows. Any legal AI platform advertising having their own LLM (Jurisphere is infamous for this) is outright lying, as only a few labs at the frontier AI companies possess the talent and compute required to develop a LLM. Be wary of this distinction when evaluating legal AI vendors, this transparency naturally lends itself to a higher degree of confidence regarding data privacy and security which are one of the main value adds of these platforms.
