All I can find about this college on Legally India so far, is like 3-4 years old, and I love to hear about it now, taking into account:
1. Academic Curriculum
2. Extracurricular Support (Moots, Conferences, Publishing)
3. Peer Groups (How academically inclined they are to push you for better heights)
4. Societies (Strength of Societies is also important)
5. Admin
If any seniors from BO'30, BO'29, BO'28, BO'27, BO'26 could help out, ideally in the 2-3 latter batches, as they can actually tell the growth, virtue of them being in the college, for a longer time. I would love anybody's advice regardless, even from other NLUs, who've heard about HNLU. Thanks!
2. Extracurricular support is mid, but not bad. Plenty of HNLU students do very well in moots nationally and sometimes internationally as well!
3. Peer groups are awful. This is due to how reserved seat ranks decrease exponentially as you go down colleges, and because HNLU is a T2 NLU arguably at #6 position overall. Further, the domicile pool (30-40% of batch) is ruinous because the domicile pool is rather low quality due to the state being more backwards than most (as compared to K'taka, Maharashtra, etc).
The All India reserved categories reach really bad ranks by HNLU, and the CG domicile hits even lower ones. ▮▮▮
However, the few all India General students who are in HNLU almost ALWAYS punch above their weight and are excellent chaps - especially seniors. These people are why HNLU gets recruitment, and if you surround yourself with the right crowd then you will be fine. After all, not everyone in the batch matters to you, only those whose company you keep!
4. Societies is an unimportant concern. You will find out as you spend some time at a university. They are all largely the same across NLUs and they do not per se matter as much as the other things.

Why was the point on Admin redacted? It was a direct answer to what OP asked. I understand liability and the overall chilling effects produced by Indian law limit what you can reasonably be expected to publish, but I doubt the ENTIRETY of my response to Q5 was libellous without exception? It was quite a bit!
