My last three internships have all been in-house, and now I’ve received a callback offer for a 3-month in-house internship right before I start my 5th year. There’s also a real possibility of converting this into a PPO, which makes it tempting.
That said, I’m a bit conflicted. I don’t have any Tier-1 law firm internship experience yet, and I’ve often heard that switching from in-house to a law firm later isn’t very easy. Because of that, I’m unsure whether continuing with in-house is the right long-term move.
So now I’m stuck between two options:
- Do I continue with the in-house role and try to convert it into a PPO?
- Or should I pivot at this stage, try to secure a law firm internship, and aim for a firm callback instead, even if that means taking some risk?
