Not true. Many in top 20 percent also did not get jobs. In fact, many individual with questionable profiles and even low GPAs ended up with jobs. How do I know? My friend was part of the BA LLB placement committee and we had common placements. Some of my peers in LLB who had high ranks didn't get a placement. My recommendation to you would be this: If you end up here, make sure you are on good terms with the placement committee and most importantly your professors. Don't rely only on campus placements. Network with people, attend events where you can meet people from firms and ideally try to get a PPO. Also a lot of individuals at NLS come from privileged backgrounds and have contacts to get internships (this is for both BALLB and LLB student) - don't be surprised when they end up with better internships despite poor ranks, just work with what you have and have a never say never attitude. As a side note: I would genuinely ask you to reconsider LLB. From what I know from my peers in the program- it's great from learning perspective (they get better profs. than us actually) but the job scene is not good for them. We are at a point where even BA LLB might struggle for placements (to a certain extent we already are facing that because of batch sizes.) This is an industry wide problem though, too many lawyers, not enough demand. If you still wish to pursue this profession, make sure you have nerves of steel and exceptional cunning.
