An academic section staff sent a mail to all three batches at 10 PM stating that henceforth we will have separate teachers and the concerned professor will mark the entire paper (i suppose separate papers then for BA and B.Sc.). We were promised module-split so that things are equitable and all of us be it ba or bsc get to experience the senior profs. But out of nowhere they backed out citing logistical issues and "inherently different nature of both courses do not demand exactly same faculty". For all these years we have been constantly given Teaching Assistants or junior profs where on the other side BA is always doled out senior profs. We are only asking for mere equality, nay, we would be happy were you to give us even a single senior faculty. The condition is so bad that we literally dont even have a single senior faculty alloted to us. The sheer irony of teaching Art. 14 while arbitrarily ruining all our lives (we are paying significantly higher than ba people yet all we ask for is a fair share and nothing more, but are marginalised daily). The SJA is ▮▮▮ remember we exist only before elections. The new VC explicitly said that we'll shift to the main campus by Jan 2026; but now that is being shifted to July 2026. It is ludicrous that it takes 3 years to build two floors. GNLU and many other NLUs have multiple specialisations but nowhere are UG grads discriminated for "B.B.A." or "B.Sw" or "B.Sc.", but here at nujs we are treated as something lesser, not equal as our BA counterparts. The majority of BA, consequently the majority of General Body are apathetic to our cause. We live in hostels with quadruple sharing which feel like animal barn with no proper hygenic water, we waste half our day travelling in bus whereas BA people happily lead the campus life with quick access to all the basic amenities. We too deserve to be treated in a fair manner even if we cannot be accommodated on campus, atleast keep us in humane living conditions. This is the reality of NUJS and how minorities are subjugated. ▮▮▮ admin, ▮▮▮ student leaders and apathetic faculty and general body. This is not a post begging for validation but to say that No Matter how much you try to silence us, we exist. We exist, and we deserve equal treatment and opportunities. And we will fight for our just share!

The logistics aren't only about travel, what you are demanding for is that one teacher teaches three sections. That's not acceptable to teachers, since none of them can offer electives or their specialised subjects. You could have raised all the other campus problems in the last three years. Even if you move to the main campus, multiple sections cannot demand to have the same teacher. NLSIU has five teachers teaching their five sections. Instead of harping on seniority of the teachers, focus on your study. The teachers can't do much anyway. You have got teachers whom the BA students would love to have, Corp 2 for instance.

That has been tried and to bad results. No teacher who has not taught a student should evaluate the student during the examination or set papers for them to solve. Even then, making the class schedule is next to impossible given the electives. You fancy yourself as a problem solver only because you have got no clue about the variables involved.

Fallacious, if they are either ways taking 2 classes, they are still taking two classes now when they teach one of the BA batches and the B.Sc. batch. The variables have no different effect on the setup given the 3 bsc batches will shift to mc. You are just a sore wannabe intellectual ba clown

If you want so many senior profs, then go to a TLC. Since you seem to not get the simple point that it is not possible to have two separate question papers for two sections of the same programme, but it is possible to have two such papers for two separate programmes, you seem to be more suited to those places.

Goes to show how bad your math is, despite studying BSc. If there is one junior and one senior faculty teaching a subject, how does your arrangement ensure that all three sections get a senior teacher? Moreover, your suggestion means that you and one BA section will have one paper and the other BA section will have a different question paper. That's legally not possible. This is why you should have actually studied Consti, which you had got the senior faculty for!

Imagine being so salty about placements when not having a good batch rank. Maybe instead of spewing hate about 180 students anonymously online, you ought to focus on the end sems coming up. There's no reason to be mad at people for competing for the same jobs as you... oh wait, unless you're the firm's last choice, of course.

You had equal opportunities. You have done very badly with it. Next recruitment season, you will realise that when you don't get any jobs. You should have looked into the syllabus, curriculum, difference in campus and hostels before signing up. The same teacher cannot keep teaching an increasing number of students. If you find a bad teacher, then complain against them. But you never do that so long as they are giving you inflated grades. So introspect first. No student can demand that a certain teacher must teach them. In subjects like Fam Law, Corp 2, CPC, you are getting better teachers than us BA peeps.

Why are you literally lying? There are at least two senior professors teaching B.Sc. LL.B. exclusively. There are one LL.B. alumna, five LL.M. alumni, one Ph.D. alumna with foreign undergrad and postgrad qualifications, one advocate with years of experience teaching procedural law, and one person whose work has been praised by Baxi himself. Moreover, anyone who have studied at any good Indian law university knows that seniority or age is not a guarantee of competence when it comes to teaching. Stop parading your ignorance about your own faculty and try to learn from them instead.

That's because the ones given to you would have half the workload as they need to offer other electives. You keep displaying your lack of comprehension and understanding. You have one section, we have two. People teaching you would have less workload. As a student, you don't get to decide who should teach you. You can at best report when someone teaching you is doing a bad job. Did you provide such feedback about any of these people who are going to teach you? No. So put up with it.

Brian Leiter, the University of Chicago-based legal realist, once said that he was okay with banter, but he hated it if people defined banter as making patently false and rediculous statements about jurisprudence. I agree with him.

I would add one more bugbear for me other than Leiter's (which I share). That is this utterly mind-blowing tendency of lawyers (lawyers!!) and law students (law students!!) from the supposed Harvards and Yales of the East not knowing what 'discrimination' means, using that word inappropriately and being so utterly irresponsible, brash, careless, reckless and negligent in their use of language as to make this word almost meaningless. Please go back, pick up a book on equality law and learn what it means. Then talk about anything else. Or, don't use the word 'discrimination'.

What matters right now are upcoming but behind the scenes opportunities that come with new building construction and other development activities in the name of student welfare, academic improvement and such hoary and hollow (but also hallowed) banners.

Get the SJA to produce FC minutes and agenda papers. All EC, FC and AC minutes and agenda notes as also other admin-inconvenient paperwork is with the Registrar and AR (Acad). The latter is also AR (Planning & Dev) so he also has details of all UGC, CLAT funds that come to the univ and other white elephant expenses.

Seriously, just be tenacious (unlike the SJA) in getting those papers, connect the dots and just follow the trail. You will be surprised how far and wide it goes.

SKB apparently was due to clock out in March 2026. But he just may stay on following the five yr rule. He was brought in when SKG became Associate Prof (a very controversial thing okayed by NKC then).

AG was brought in when NKC removed KS. He gave supporting arguments which were accepted by EC. But the same EC now wants KS back due to changed equations.

AG is well known for ensuring that certain things get verbally mentioned but never recorded in the minutes. He was among the EC stalwarts during the reign of Lord Taluk who strongly opposed SJA access to EC et al minutes and agenda notes. Ofc he and his ilk were subsequently trounced and royally schooled in RTI by SJA. But SJA lost its spine and ball. So back to square one.

Since NKC did abuse his position and then lost it, his backers in the EC including AG switched positions too. The NKC appointees got blindsided; and having read the room they quietly complied with the verbal advice of the AG.

What matters now are the current faculty members in the EC and how they swing.

Do not depend on SJA because the number deficit will not be bridged. Unless BSc comes together nothing will happen. You will certainly get manipulated and later used as an excuse for various expenses done in your "best interests".

Since SJA in this and other issues as well has proved to be a self serving medium for an entitled brass, bin it. SJA does not exist in the NUJS Act. It is merely a creation of the founding VC and the monopoly has been allowed by the admin. Refuse it and have your own thing. Stay united.

Students you are exceptionally bright. Let the semester progress and good work will show. But several arguments raised are already quite thoughtful. Collective action, when rooted in dialogue rather than coercion, is often the most effective way forward. Also, it is worth saying clearly that the B.Sc. LL.B. cohort is in no way less capable or less rigorous than the B.A. LL.B. - An alumni

Bsc llb peeps… you are going to be as good as ba llb peeps and may be far better! When ba llb started it was wrought with similar anxiety baba. Do you know how special your course is? You will be the best forensic legal professional India has ever seen. Your juris? Ever strong! Your corp? Unbeatable! Your consti? Unputdownable! Do not worry. I will come back again in the comments. We will come with a plan. Let us not kid ourselves. This is a bsc course, not ba. We can make use of credit courses like our seniors? We can exhaust our teachers by asking them to mentor us. What does it mean they wont talk to us. Speak to us tall towers. Get internships. Faculties have too many connections. Scavenge the LinkedIn. Alumni base is Rich! OVN has showed the path! There are so many ways! Let us plan it out. Talk talk talk. Get OVN in the loop. Things will work out future! Keep hope! Keep hating juris but. All the way!

In order to get people to use their connections to help you, you need to prove to them that you are putting in enough effort on your part. So far, the BSc LLB cohort has failed to show that. They don't pay attention in classes, hardly follow instructions, expect to be spoon-fed, and display colossal entitlement (although in this, they are similar to their BA LLB counterparts). Most of their writing is blatantly AI generated without any effort at editing, they rarely ask any intelligent question in class or external sessions, they have failed to impress in their efforts at mooting, or other competitions. Exceptions exist, of course. Yet the overall future of this cohort seems bleak unless they really get their act together and work hard and smart like the first few BA LLB batches used to.

You have no idea the damage you inflict by disparaging an entire cohort of students who are genuinely trying. With the right guidance, their over-reliance on AI would naturally correct itself. The BA students do the same, but they've learned to be more discreet about it. You carry the unmistakable air of faculty, and quite possibly the pedigree of an ex-BA Noojie; may that legacy weigh heavily on you. The BSc students are warm, sharp, and yes — misguided, but that misguiding has a source, and it wears a lanyard. Pick your battles with peers who can actually push back. Not with students. Not like this.

We understand the urgency... it must be suffocating, after all, still tangled in the loving grip of those 'Control'ling matrons. Take your time getting loose. We'll wait.

Look at the discrimination in this way. The BSc syllabus is heavily skewed towards forensic and crime-centric subjects. At one point, this emphasis may have seemed defensible given the academic direction then in place (READ NKC Reign). However, now, won't it be worth introducing a stronger corp–science (BSc) interface? You cannot limit us students to a single career pathway, and many BSc students want corporate roles. The relevant faculty cohort (with actual research and experience) already exists on campus, diverted to other courses in the meantime.

So you are saying that if the VC of a university gets changed, the course curriculum would change? Goes to show your immaturity. Any change would require new curriculum to be approved by the governing councils and would not be retrospectively applied. If BSc students wanted corporate roles, then they should have joined programmes more suitable for that. Nobody is limiting you anyway. Read whatever you want, intern wherever you wish. The existing faculty are not supposed to drop everything else that they are doing just to cater to you.
