The notion that law students might engage with constitutional questions without subordinating campus governance to external diktat is simply insulting. Nothing prepares you for a career predicated on independence and reasoned argument quite like learning to toe party lines and pass ideological litmus tests.

But you have identified the real problem: NLUs currently suffer from functional governance, campus peace, and the ability to address issues on merit. Unacceptable. What we desperately need is to transform student elections into miniature general elections complete with booth captures, external funding, and the replacement of campus concerns with national political theater. So yes, it is absolutely "high time" we imported this spectacular system.
